Peggy Fuller, DVM was raised in Jacksonville, Florida and has been involved with horses since she was a child. She grew up riding Hunters and Jumpers and worked at barns to offset her lessons and boarding costs. Her passion for horses led her to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine. She attended FSU for her undergraduate studies and received a BS in Animal Science and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida in 1986.
Dr. Fuller is the owner of Mandarin Equine Veterinary Service, established in 1991, specializing in Sport Horse Medicine, Reproduction and Preventative Medicine. She became involved with the Northeast Florida Equestrian Society in 2008 when she felt like the Jacksonville Equestrian Center was not being utilized to its fullest. In 2014 the City of Jacksonville awarded NFES/H.O.R.S.E. Therapies, a 501(c) (3), the management contract. Since 2014 the attendance is up 92%, revenue is up 66% and the economic impact the JEC has on the COJ is up 100%! Part of the original Master Plan for the Cecil Commerce Center was to have a therapeutic riding center adjacent to the JEC property. As the current Board Chair of NFES and working in collaboration with the COJ and UNF, Dr. Fuller wants to see this plan come to fruition.
She also serves as an adjunct professor at the University Of Florida College Of Veterinary Medicine and on the Board of Director’s for the Belgian Warmblood North American Division. She is a member of the AVMA, FAEP, USEF and USHJA.
In her spare time, Dr. Fuller enjoys spending time with her horses (showing, breeding and raising young prospects) , gardening and enjoying time with the “two legged” men in her life, her husband Charles (Chuck) Kalb Jr and her son Charles (Chuck) Kalb III, DVM.
