Sam is a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern. She holds a Master of Social Work and Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of North Florida. She earned her Graduate Certificate in Animal-Assisted Therapy in Counseling from UNF as well. She holds an Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL) certification from the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH, International). Sam has worked with children and families, survivors of domestic violence, and has experience working with a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, anger management, ADHD, and trauma. Sam works from a strengths-based perspective with a non-judgmental approach. She is passionate about utilizing her education and experience in animal-assisted therapy to support her clients and promote healing by building relationship between human and animal.
Sam has been married for 14 years and has two daughters and a son. She also has a registered quarter horse, a Pet Partners registered therapy miniature horse, labrador retriever, standard poodle, cocker spaniel, and a cat as her animal partners.
